October Update: Your Collection at Your Own Pace, the Match Before Kickoff

Matchplan Patch Notes Hero

Version 2.1 is the October update. In September we said that you would soon be able to buy Store Points, not only earn them. With this update, you can. On top of that come a new Objectives screen, previews before kickoff, live points in the Weekly Matchplan and in limited time events, and the polish from four weeks of Season 3. Some of it has been running on your phone for a few days already.

Build your collection at your own pace

You decide how fast your collection grows. Playing stays the way you get cards, packs and rewards. Buying is a second route alongside it, not a replacement.

The Store now has three sections. Store holds the packs you buy with Store Points, as before. Points is new: this is where you get Store Points in six bundles, from 100 Store Points for €0.99 to 12,000 Store Points for €99.99. From the second bundle up a bonus is included, and at 12,000 Store Points, 1,900 of them are bonus. Packs holds your unopened packs.

  • Paid through your store: the purchase runs through the App Store or Google Play, with the account and payment method you have set up there. The store shows you the price in your currency.
  • One tap to top up: tap your Store Points balance at the top and the Store opens straight on Points. If you do not have enough Store Points for a pack, the app takes you there as well.
  • Safely credited: after the purchase we check the receipt and credit your Store Points. If the connection drops along the way, the app completes the credit automatically.
  • What they are for: Store Points buy packs, Refresh Packs and the Premium Season Pass.

Store Points are an optional complement. You keep earning them through the rewards from your league and the Season Pass. You cannot buy a place in a higher league, so every result on Matchplan stays your read on the game. Store Points are tied to your account and cannot be transferred, so that every collection stays your own.

See at a glance what is left and what it earns you

You should see in one second what is open, how far along you are and what you get for it. That is why we rebuilt the Objectives screen.

Objectives are now sorted into three groups: Daily, Weekly and Event. The Event group appears while a limited time event is running. Every group opens and closes and tells you in one sentence what it is about. Every objective is a row with four fixed columns: what the task is, your progress, the reward and the state. An empty circle means open, a gift means ready to collect and a tick means done.

  • Fixed order: rows stay where they are. A completed objective does not jump to the bottom, so you never have to search again.
  • One signal on Home: the Objectives icon on Home turns green as soon as a reward is ready to collect. Otherwise it stays quiet.
  • Event objectives in one shared place: the objectives of limited time events now sit on the Objectives screen, no longer in a tab of their own inside the event.
  • One rule, made exact: Weekly objectives such as "Play on 7 days" now count the days on which you actually locked in. Until now a single Weekly lock-in could fill several days at once, and the objective was done after two days.

Read the match before you lock in

A good call starts with the match, not with the card. That is why many matches now carry a short preview right below the fixture: form, the situation and what the match is about.

The preview stays while your lineup is open. At kickoff it disappears and the live points take over. Not every match has a preview, so that every sentence you read comes from a source we can back up.

Follow live how your lineup is scoring

In the Weekly Matchplan and in limited time events, the match card now shows your running points total during the game. In the Weekly, Double up is already counted in.

After the reveal in a limited time event, a sheet of its own opens with the rewards of that stage, so you can collect them right away. If you close it, the reward stays waiting on the path.

See what every place in your league is worth

Your league's reward ladder now shows the Store Points every place earns. A countdown in the title row tells you when the rewards arrive. And since the league week of 14 September, a walkover counts as 25:0 in the table.

Get closer to your cards

  • The card, full screen: tap a card and its detail opens over the whole screen, in the colour of its rarity. The X top left takes you back.
  • The call on every card: small-format cards now show their call too, in the duel reveal, in the slots of your lineup, in the Exchange and in the Album.
  • Nothing jumps in the picker: if a call is already in your lineup, other cards with the same call no longer vanish from the grid. They stay dimmed in their place, and a tap tells you why.

Find your way from day one

New players now see new intros for Home, the Daily Matchplan and the Weekly Matchplan. They show your own cards instead of sample pictures, and the Home intro puts your Welcome Pack in the middle: one tap opens it. After that, "Your first steps" guides you through your first lock-ins.

Quality of life and UX updates

  • Refreshing a card from the picker: if you refresh a card from inside the picker, you stay on the right Daily Matchplan and the picker opens again afterwards.
  • Live push at kickoff: the push for a live match now arrives at kickoff, once per match, and names the match.
  • Packs from rewards: a reward with several packs now pays out every pack, not just one.
  • Points after the final whistle: the "Points earned" sheet now shows the final score of the match, for example 2:1, instead of just the two teams.
  • Under the hood: cards load faster, stability and security improved.

Thank you for a strong September

That was version 2.1, the October update, live now on the App Store and Google Play. Thank you for playing every matchday of Season 3. We keep listening. Tell us on Discord how the Store feels and what you still miss in your objectives. Your feedback shapes what comes next.
